Fallout 3 First Impressions

Now here is a game you might have been hearing alot about lately. It's from the studios that brought you Oblivion. The game, Fallout 3, is now out for PS3 and Xbox 360.

I bought the limited edition copy of the game yesterday and played it for 3 hours. My initial impression of the game so far is that it deserves the hype its been getting and a review of 9.6 from IGN might be right for once.

There is so much to do. The world has been destroyed by nuclear warfare and your character has been living in a bomb shelter his whole life not knowing the outside world is still alive. You begin creating your character and living and seeing the first 16 years of his life through cut scenes and dialog. Once the story takes it's course you end up escaping the shelter to find your missing father. This is where the game picks up and shines.

The overall tone to the game is like living out the movie "I Am Legend" where you search the barren waste lands and fight odd creatures for survival. The combat system is nice and innovative as well as the choice to play either in first or third person view.
To sum it up, it is Oblivion in the "I Am Legend" world.

I would strongly suggest buying or renting this game.
It gets 2 Tommy Harvey fingers out of 2.
